Ghorepani Poonhill Trek – 10 Days

Ghorepani and Poonhill in the Annapurna Region is the most done trekking in Nepal. The beginner for the Adventure Trekking or with short time who wants to enjoy the beauty of the Himalayas are best suited for the Trekking. Poonhill situated at the height of 3210 m from the sealevel is the best view point in the Annapurna to enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas.

Itinerary in Detail:

DAY 01: KATHMANDU ARRIVAL

Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel. Tour of some heritage culture sites in the evening depends on the arrival time. Overnight stay in the Hotel.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU – POKHARA

Drive to Pokhara which takes some 6 good hours in the beautiful Highway ( the highway is not that wide enough and straight enough so the travel time is long though it is only 200 Km. ). The Highway runs in the midhill region of Nepal along the River most of the time. You will get to experience the agricultural farming, village life and locale during the drive. Arrive Pokhara the most beautiful lake city of Nepal nestled in the lap of Annapurnas. Hang and tour around the lakeside in the late afternoon and enjoy the shopping lane of Lakeside. Overnight stay in the Hotel.

DAY 03: POKHARA – TREK TO TIKHEDHUNGA

Drive an hour after breakfast to Nayapul and then start Trekking to Tikhedhunga. The trail today is slight up and follows the river.Lunch on the way in a small local restaurant where you can choose the meal of your choice though be the taste canlocal. Overnight in the mountain lodge.

DAY 05: TIKHEDHUNGA – GHOREPANI

After breakfast trek to Ghorepani (2850 m). The first two hours walk is steep up . Lunch in Banthanti .After the lunch the trail is gradually up in the jungle of Rhododendron which is taken as one of the biggest jungle. Overnight in the mountain lodge.

DAY 05: GHOREPANI – TADAPANI

Early in the morning climb up to the Poonhill(3210 m), the most visited sunrise viewpoint in Nepal. It takes about an hour to reach this magnificient view tower from where you can enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayan ranges including Annapurnas (Annapurna I – 8,091 m, Annapurna II / III / IV, Annapurna south -7,210 m) , Fishtail (6993 m), Dhaulagiri (8168 m)and other many small peaks . Climb down to the hotel and after breakfast trek to Tadapani (2640 m). The day is a bit long but beautiful up and down in the Rhodendron forest. Lunch on the way in Banthanti. Overnight in the mountain lodge.

DAY 06: TADAPANI – GHANDRUK

Trek down to Ghandruk (1910 m) which is one of the beautiful villagein the lap of Annapurnas and the day is a bit short to walk. It is gradually down and takes some 4 hrs only. Enjoy the lunch in Ghandruk village and a beautiful sight. In the evening you can walk around the village, visit the local museum, Annapurna conservation Project’s headquarter. Overnight in the mountain lodge.

DAY 07: GHANDRUK – NAYAPUL – POKHARA

Trek back to Nayapul / Bensi and drive back to Pokhara. Overnight stay in Pokhara.

DAY 08: POKHARA – KATHMANDU

Drive back to Kathmandu. Afternoon is free time in Kathmandu for shopping and hang around.

DAY 09: KATHMANDU FREE N EASY

Enjoy the Half Day city tour of Kathmandu in the morning and then the rest day is free for shopping and to explore on your own.

DAY 10 : DEPARTURE

Departure to your country with fond memories of Himalayas, Trekking and Nepal
